Colour Management

Whether you are a professional or amateur, interested in photography, design or print, colour management is an issue that affects us all. 


Colour management is all about consistency and predictability. We all want our outputted prints to look exactly like the rich saturated images we see on our monitors, but we all know by bitter experience that this is not always the case.


A properly colour managed workflow will ensure that your camera, Mac and printer all speak a common language, and guarantee that when you see a great image on your monitor, that is precisely what your printer will output.


Peter Lovelock is a highly experienced colour management consultant who works for Colour Confidence in Birmingham. He specialises in cutting through the jargon and (using good old fashioned plain English) will explain:


  1. •Exactly what colour management is.

  2. •What settings we need to use in our cameras to achieve the best results

  3. •What settings we need to use in our editing software

  4. •What hardware we need to achieve consistent results

  5. •How to calibrate a monitor

  6. •How to calibrate a printer so that our printed output matches precisely what we see on our monitors.

All the hardware and software that Peter will demonstrate works in EXACTLY the same way on PCs as it does on Macs, so this meeting should be of immense interest to ANYONE interested in Colour Management practices.
